Gyro Gearloose commonly known as Inventor of Anything rarely made inventions that could be used in today's world. Usually it was a question of coming up with extremely skilled solutions for people who had specific problems. So he invented teleporters, instant food out of nowhere, thought-developers, and one-man flying contraptions on end. Carl Barks developed his brilliant chicken character - with no birdbrain - from a modest start, in which he was merely jumping along on his pogo stick trying to churn a quart of cream into butter, to the breathtaking and surprising - and still somewhat believable - inventions that quickly followed. This page will primarily show you some examples of Gyro's special personality as well as a few of his inventions, which may all earn him the well deserved nickname of The Genius.
HyperWar: Japanese Midget Submarine, No. I9, Description of
Interior of a Type A Japanese midget submarine. The Japanese started building midget submarines in secrecy in the s. They were designed for stealth. They were transported on the rear deck of reconfigured, larger I class submarines.
M24 Japanese Midget Submarine wreck site is a heritage-listed former midget submarine and now archaeological site located in unincorporated waters off Sydney 's Northern Beaches in New South Wales , Australia. The Japanese midget submarine attack on Sydney Harbour was audacious and would have been even more spectacular had the primary military targets been successfully damaged. The attack showed the vulnerability of Australian ports like Sydney to long-range Japanese submarine patrols and the need for heightened security. Many Sydney-siders still recall the moments at night on 31 May—1 June as the harbour lit up with depth charge explosions, tracer fire and criss-crossing harbour defence vessels. The explosion as a Japanese torpedo struck under the depot ferry HMAS Kuttabul was intense, throwing portions of the shattered hull high into the sky and killing twenty-one men.
